Capture Your Family’s Memories: Finding the Perfect New Smyrna Beach Family Photographer

New Smyrna Beach Family Photographer

When this family reached out and I noticed that she was a referral from the wonderful Mom that is in a Pleaides Dress group on facebook I knew we were a good fit. Those dresses are amazing!!!
I always feel bad recommending a start time 15 minutes before sunrise, especially when the family is on vacation. But when you see these images you will understand the why. It’s the only way to get these colors. It was amazing how the colors of the sky matched their outfits too. Something magical about that. I will always be happy to wake up at 4am to drive to a beach session especially when the sky shows off like this one did.

Family photos are a great way to capture memories that you and your loved ones can look back on for years to come. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want to capture your family’s unique personalities, finding the perfect New Smyrna Beach family photographer is essential. Here are some tips to help you when you are planning your family’s memories and create those gorgeous images.

New Smyrna Beach Family Photographer Tips from your Photographer:

1 . Capture your session early in your trip

Think about photographing your session earlier in your trip, that way we avoid any of the sunburns and if your kids are still in napping age this helps since you are still likely close to your normal schedule at home. If your travel day is hectic or long consider that when planning your session date.

2 Session times on the beach

The best time for a session on the beach is either 15 minutes before sunrise or an hour before sunset. If you have a larger family I always try to capture pictures around 1.5 hours before. Sunrise is my favorite since there is less amount of people at the beach and sometimes, it’s less likely for rain. Also the east coast, sunrise mimics the sunset on the west coast.

3 Have your kids ever been in the sand?

So this only applies for little kids mostly, but if your kids haven’t ever seen the ocean or walked on sand sometimes its a scary place. If you can try and get them on the beach before even for just 15 minutes so they aren’t overwhelmed and they are used to the feelings and the sound.

4 Choose the right clothing

When selecting clothing for a beach photoshoot, it’s important to keep in mind that you’ll be in a sandy and windy environment. Choose clothing that is comfortable and practical for the beach, such as lightweight fabrics, neutral or pastel colors, and avoid anything too matchy. It’s also a good idea to bring along a towel or blanket to sit on, and to bring a change of clothes in case you get wet.

5 Think about what types of photos you want.

Do you want your pictures to be romantic/formal/simple or do you want those images to be bright, and fun with movement? You could consider bringing props, such as beach balls, hats, sunglasses, or even a surfboard if you’re feeling adventurous.

6 Consider your footwear.

When it comes to footwear for a beach photoshoot, it’s best to avoid high heels or anything that is difficult to walk in on the sand. Instead, opt for comfortable sandals or bare feet.

7 Have fun and be yourself.

The most important thing to remember during your beach photoshoot is to have fun and be yourself. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through in your photos, and trust your photographer to capture your unique qualities in a beautiful way.
