How to choose your portrait location around Orlando, FL? I have a list for you. This will hopefully help you decide on a location based on your needs and look for your session. There are really so many great spots around Central FL and beyond that I love to photograph at. Whether your looking for an urban setting, a great park, or your hotel resort, Orlando certainly has you covered.
I have pinned some images from my site for easy reference: You can see that board on Pinterest here: https://www.pinterest.com/kimbrrlee/orlando-portrait-locations/
.) Celebration, FL – Just minutes outside of Disney world is the amazingly cute little town that Disney designed. If your here around Christmas somehow it gets extra adorable. They totally transform the town.
.) Bok Tower Gardens, Winter Haven, FL – This has got to be one of my favorite locations ever. There is a fee to get in but it is completely worth it. If you are lucky enough to get a session when the azaleas are in bloom you are in for a treat. The Gardens are just so stunning. They also have orange groves and one of the best fields for amazing field portraits. You can also make a day trip out of it. There is this great children’s play garden.
.) Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont – I had my maternity session here. It is a stunning location. There is a nice field, native Florida setting and a really pretty park. The location has tons of oak trees too. If you are looking for a true native and rustic Florida setting this is the place for your portrait session.
.) Cypress Grove Estate House, Orlando FL – This location reminds me of an old plantation house. With such pretty grounds around it. I particularly love this location for weddings too. If you need a photographer for your wedding at Cypress Grove Estate House please contact me. It is one of my favorites.
.) Rollins College, Winter Park, FL – I am completely obsessed with this location. I have found that certain days and times of the week the campus is less busy. Just picture the amazing antique doorways, historical buildings surrounded by old oak trees and brick pathways.
.) Kraft Azalea Park, Winter Park, FL – If you had your portrait session here you would be surrounded by old huge cypress trees covered in Spanish moss, there’s an old column structure that looks like a hidden gem in a cypress forest. Along with a dock on a lake. This location you can bring your pet too as well.
.) Baldwin Park, Winter Park, FL – This is another charming town around the downtown Orlando area. It has it’s own little downtown area, a huge lake with perfect docks, fields around the lake as well.
.) Downtown Orlando, FL – If you wanted a more Urban location for your portrait session I have just the place. We can walk around the streets of Downtown Orlando and create such a unique look for your session. I even have some favorite parking garages to get the whole city scape in the background of your portraits.
.) Any local Springs, Blue (Orange City, FL) or Wekiva (Apopka, FL) Springs- These are truely unique gems. The water is so blue but you will also get that lost in a forest by yourself feel to the images. I love shooting maternity sessions here. Certainly a special location for a session.
.) Downtown Winter Park or Winter Garden – These downtown locations are different from the urban setting or Downtown Orlando. They are quaint little towns with history.
.) At your home – There is something just comforting to have your session in your own home. We can hang out in your house, we could bake cookies, play in the backyard, swim in your pool. These types of sessions can really be wonderful to get pure emotions out of your kids. I mean what kid doesn’t want to show me their new toys.
.) Any of your own ideas on locations – I can’t wait too see what you all have in mind. I have shot in random wildflower fields to just tiny sections of an old build to get my clients the looks they want.
.) Beaches – We have some great beaches. If you choose either coast I have a nice list of favorite beaches. My favorite West Coast Beach is
Fort Desoto Beach in St. Pete. If you are wanting a sunset session you would need to choose a west coast beach. If you wanted a session on the beach with soft skies (These are perfect if you want a beach session but your a big squinter) I would choose sunset at the East coast. For Morning Sessions you can switch the location to get the same outcome. But If you were to do a morning session I would highly recommend a shoot right at sunrise. Since I’m based out of central FL there is a travel to for any beach session.
