Family Session at Leu Gardens | Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer
When Florida Decides It’s Fall
As your Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer, I ensure every family feels comfortable and natural during their session.
The colors of Leu Gardens are ideal for a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer to showcase stunning family portraits.
This January, as a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer, I witnessed amazing family moments in the vibrant scenery.

Being a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer allows me to capture the best of what Florida has to offer in winter.
One of my favorite things about photographing families in Central Florida is that our seasons do not follow the rules. While most of the country is deep into winter, January here brings something unexpected and beautiful. Our maple trees change color.
As a trusted Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer, I understand the significance of these moments.
The joy of family photos with a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer is unbeatable.
That means that January is essentially Florida’s fall, and there is no better place to see it than Leu Gardens.
This family session took place in January, and the timing could not have been more perfect. The air was cooler, the light was soft, and the maple trees were showing off with rich yellows, warm oranges, and touches of red that you would normally expect months earlier somewhere else.
Why January Is One of the Best Months for Family Photos in Florida

January is often overlooked, but it is truly one of the best months for outdoor sessions.
With the guidance of a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer, families can truly shine in their photos.
The temperatures are comfortable, kids are happier, and everyone can relax without worrying about the heat. Hair and makeup hold up better, outfits feel easier, and families can actually enjoy the experience.
Remember, choosing a Harry-p-leu-gardens family photographer can make all the difference in your family experience.
And then there are the maple trees.
For a short window in January, Leu Gardens transforms. The colors shift, the paths feel cozy and layered, and the photos take on a completely different look than what you see the rest of the year. It is warm and timeless, and honestly a little bit magical.
Leu Gardens as a Family Photo Location

Leu Gardens is one of my go-to locations for a reason.
It offers a variety of backdrops in a single session. We can move from tree-lined paths to open garden spaces, textured greenery, and seasonal color without ever feeling rushed. It is especially wonderful for families with kids because there is space to move, explore, and just be themselves.
During this session, we focused on natural moments. Walking together, laughing, letting the kids lead the way, and capturing those in-between interactions that families often do not realize are happening.
Those are the moments that end up meaning the most later.
The Look and Feel of This Session

January light at Leu Gardens is soft and flattering. Combined with the changing leaves, it creates images that feel cozy, warm, and classic, even though they were taken in the middle of winter.
This session had a very fall-inspired feel without heavy layers or bulky outfits. Neutral tones, soft textures, and subtle pops of color photographed beautifully against the changing trees.
It is one of the reasons I love photographing here this time of year. You get the fall look without the fall crowds or weather.
Planning a Winter or January Family Session

If you are visiting Central Florida in January or live locally and want something different, this is such an underrated time for family photos.
Leu Gardens is perfect if you love:
- seasonal color that feels unexpected in Florida
- a peaceful, timeless setting
- comfortable weather for kids
- photos that do not feel overly tropical or summery
January sessions book quickly because the window for fall color is short, but when the timing works, it is absolutely worth it.
A Little Reminder About Florida Seasons

If you have ever wondered when Florida feels like fall, the answer is January.
And when the maple trees turn at Leu Gardens, it is one of my favorite times to photograph families all year.
