Proposal at Bok Tower Gardens

As a photographer, there’s something incredibly special about being invited to capture one of life’s most unforgettable moments—especially when it’s a surprise proposal at a place as magical as Bok Tower Gardens! Recently, I had the honor of photographing a proposal at this iconic location, and let me tell you, it was pure perfection from start to finish.

The Sneaky Setup – Hiding Behind My Stroller

To keep the element of surprise, I had to get creative. The Reflection Pond, with its perfect view of the towering Bok Tower in the background, was the obvious spot for the proposal, so I needed to blend in without being seen. My clever disguise? A stroller! I found a great spot right in front of the pond, hiding in plain sight with my camera at the ready.

As the couple made their way to the pond, everything was falling into place. He had the ring, she had no idea, and I had my secret vantage point! My heart was racing, knowing I was about to capture one of the most life-changing moments for this couple.

The Big Moment – She Said Yes!

The second he dropped to one knee, I was already snapping away. The look on her face—surprise, joy, and love all at once—was absolutely priceless. The tower looming behind them made for a fairytale-like backdrop, and the reflection in the pond added an extra layer of beauty. Being there, behind the lens, knowing I was preserving this once-in-a-lifetime moment, is exactly why I love what I do.

Portraits Around the Gardens

After the initial shock and excitement wore off (and a few happy tears were shed!), it was time for some post-proposal portraits around Bok Tower Gardens. There’s just something about this place that makes every shot look magical. The gardens were alive with color and lush greenery, creating the perfect setting for their first photos as an engaged couple.

We wandered around, capturing moments in front of blooming flowers, shaded pathways, and of course, back at the Reflection Pond for a few more dreamy shots with the tower. Every spot had its own charm, making each portrait feel unique while still holding onto the romance of the proposal.
