Capturing extended family portraits is totally my jam. I love being able to be there and make the sessions happen. Most of my portrait sessions come from amazing referrals from past clients too. So an extra huge thank you for that. I know I love being able to support local family owned businesses whenever possible. We took these portraits at their annual family vacation location, Westgate river ranch. It is located at 3200 River Ranch Blvd, River Ranch, FL 33867. It truly is a little slice of heaven. The kids play and run around these oak trees every year so it was a fitting location for their session location on the resort grounds. We had a couple of different sides of the family and it was really wonderfully getting them all together.
Here’s some super great tips for extednde family portraits:
1.) Let me know before the shoot the names of all the family members and who belongs with who.
2.) If you have two different sides let me know the groupings you want, and if you want a large family shot too
3.) If you have any family members that need to leave early please let me know so I can do their shots first
4.) I always try and capture the shots with the kids first and leave adults last
5.) If there are any different groupings please let me know, also feel free to list them out on the questionnaire too
6.) Get ready to tickle, laugh, look at each other and giggle, maybe even hold a kiddo upside down. So basically we just play. Try not
7.) I can photoshop happy heads, (Which is included in your pricing) We just need to get a couple good smily heads Soooo that means for my adults keep looking and smiling at me. (I know its totally hard, I have a two-ager)
8.) let me know if any adult wants a headshot
Here’s the groupings we are going for:
+Large group shot
+Grandkids and Grandparents
+All kids/cousin shots
+Individual family shots – breaking it down to mom with each child and with all the kids, same for dads
+Siblings
+Each kid
Then to the adult only shots
+Couples
+Parents and adult children
+Adult siblings
